Telluride Sitters, LLC is a Colorado State Licensed child care facility. We offer year round child care for families that live or work in the San Miguel region.
Program Overview
Telluride Sitters approach is based on the early childhood research that suggests that young children build or “construct” their knowledge of the world-they are active learners.” We encourage play based learning.
This means that learning is not simply a process of adults giving information to children. Rather, children discover things through direct experience with people, objects, events, ideas and their environment. Children learn best while pursuing their own interests while actively supported and challenged by the caregivers in their life.
The teachers and staff are active and involved with the children. The staff provides developmentally appropriate materials, activities, and talk with children in ways that both support and challenge what the children are experiencing and learning. This approach is called active participatory learning which is a process of learning in which the teachers and the children are active partners. This goal of promoting active learning is reflected in every aspect of the curriculum.
Telluride Sitters provides high quality, licensed, year round early childhood education and childcare for working parents. We provide a safe, structured, positive environment for children from 2 months of age up to four years and eleven months of age.
Our summer camp for ages 3 – 6 years is an excellent for the adventurous. We offer field trips, games, crafts supported by weekly themes. We swim and play in the river several days a week.
